    entertainment in 3gee

    finally!!! my dream came true!!!
i got my t.v. installed in my 3gee today!
-5inch LCD screen mounted on dash
-t.v. tuner mounted under passenger seat
with the tuner, there's two outputs(so i can hook up two screens to it), three inputs, plus built in FM modulator (so i can hear the sound through my radio)

all this only cost $300 bucks!!! ONLY!!! i did everything myself and it looks like a pro did it too. i can flip through channels and there's even a cable t.v. option to it. i plan on getting a dvd player or ps2 in my car soon. installation only took an hour or so and it was simple! i cant wait to get the ps2 going. watch for pics, ill post them soon!!!

Dammmnnnnn! Those flames are NICE! Did you do away with the visors? What happens when the sun is glaring and you can't find your shades...

    Nice dreamcast connection there too...

Headliner was custom made, the visors, dome light and 'oh shit' handles were shaved too. It just looks like one big complete peice with a big tv strapped to it......looks quite custom!

    Fun Stuff

shepherd79, here is the wiring diagram http://photos.yahoo.com/hondaaccord_86
89accordlxi the resolution is great on the t.v. it's better then the my t.v. at home. the screen is BOLX, the tuner is anuba- i gotta check. the sales guy told me that the anuba just makes entertainment for cars. all in all, it was cheap to do, and something i can floss. ill get some pics a.s.a.p. i forgot that i have to be a member to post pics.

How much exactly did everything cost you? I've been thinking of doing an LCD install but thought it would be too expensive. If you could list everything you had to buy and how much it cost it would be very helpful. Thanks.

i got pictures, but i need to develop them.
RL89LXi for me it was easy to get everything i needed coz i always have tools and supplies. here is a list of what i got:
    1) 5inch LCD screen/monitor - $150
    2) TV tuner - $150
    3) video audio cable - free

so total was only $300. the prices are dropping nowdays. i had a video audio cable just lying at home. i know at FRY'S electrionics, you can get all of these for a cheaper price then i did. ask the guys there, they should get you all of it. that's what i did. oh, here are the brand names: LCD sceen - BOLX, TV tuner - ANABA.
on the tuner there is an input for a cable box, but has to be a wireless cable box...(meaning more $$$) then you have to subscribe mouthly and i didn't want to do that. happy hunting!

7" LCD's wont fit into our visors. I had a custom made visor that could just handle a 5" tv screen comfortably. (before it was knocked out and broken by some fucker!) If you dont have someone that knows upholstry, you are going to pay an ass load for the work to be done. Its very expensive and very labor intensive....time = money!

on the stand that holds the monitor, there's like a big nut that you can unscrew the monitor out. so i can take the monitor out of the car. i can do the same with the tuner. hopefully i won't get it all stolen.

I have a 7" screen mounted on my dash that I remove every time I leave the car and a 5" flip down tv in the back right behind the sunroof. I have an auxiliary input on my deck so I play it through my deck and I have a dvd player installed. I love your alarm scanner light though, I was thinking the exact same thing for my car rather than that boring, blinking red light that you have to look for to see.

i got them cheap at this is place that sells them for 15 bucks. they look phat at night. my old man was telling me that he'd be all scared to try and steal my car coz of the alarm scanners make it look all crazy. not that he steals car or anything... anyhow if youre interest or if anyone is interested let me know.
