    windows arent going down?!

i have an 89 lx, and my windows are not gonig down. i checked the fuse in the engine bay and its fine. they were working a few weeks ago, i was away at school. i cut some wires i didnt need in the engine bay a few weeks ago, but i think the windows worked after i did that. wires like power steering, and cruise wires, things i have taken off awhile ago. i dont think thats what did it, but iam not sure. any help?

Best advice is to reconnect the wires and go from there. Why would you cut wires anyways?

Did you check fuse #3 in the dash fuse panel? Also in the under hood fuse/relay panel there is a power window relay. That's what is on an 88, I think an 89 might be the same.

This may sound ghetto but it works for me. Bang on ur door panel and move the toggle switch up and down. If that doesnt work either ur relay switch is bad or ur window motor is bad. In either case u need to take care of it.
Thinking about getting a new 3g...

On my SEi it seems that the switch itself is going bad. When it is cool out the window just doesn't seem to budge. Once the day heats up, it works fine. Puzzling....

sure...take-off the door panel and direct connect the motor to see if it works...then test the switches to see if the work.

you can find a great manual to show you how to do this at one of our members websites,

Check the Main Switch. The one that is on top of all the window switches on the driver's side door panel.

You probably checked this but is the window unlocked at the switch?
