Our cars use DOT 3 Brake Fluid.

Are you brakes blead properly? How long has it been since you have flushed your brake fluid?

It sounds to me like you may have a leak at the brake booster. If you have a manual and a vacuum pump you can check it out yourself; if not, you may want to take it to a mechanic.

i just went and looked at the booster i dont see any moist fluid my friend was saying that if the master cylinder is leaking fluid back that could be a problem like the o rings are bad in the cylinder so its not creating enough pressure.he also said that the brake booster should not cause it to be spongy it may make the pedal hard to push but not spongy.

if ther was a leak at all i should be able to hold the pedal down with the car off and it would slowly drop down thats not the case it pumps up solid.

ive got one wheel off now can i start the car and have some body hit the brakes with the caliper off to check for free movement from the pins?
