you have the same problem as me....your 5th gear syncro is going out....wont really affect anything if you keep it out of gear and use 4th instead

Just check to make sure your fluid is all the way full since it it's low at all fifth is the first gear to go since it's highest in the tranny. I would suggest checking the fluid level at every oil change just b/c it gives you good assurance you won't lose fifth. Just my 2 cents.

werd...honestly i think whats causeing my noice is lack of fuel in the transmission...could that be a deciding factor of if it sounds like things in the tranny are grinding?

Its not loud at all but i can barely hear it. u know I have no griding at all but i check the fuild and its all full and shit. And some odd reason its not really doing it anymore. I guess it was to full i dont know. Cuz when i check it a bunch of it came out which should of only been level u know.

Don't worry, I have the same problem with 4th at about 30mph. If I try to cruise in 4th at that speed, I get a low whine, downshift to 3rd and problem solved. In other words, your gear selection is too high for the speed you are going at.

I get it when im in 5th going at 100kph. Once i get over or just below 100 it goes away. When i got the car it was loud but after having the fluid changed it was much quieter. I change the fluid every 10,000kms or so and it is fine. I have no problems with the gears scraping or crunching going into 5th
