I push her past redL like once a month on a rebuilt engine... I still get most of my power dropping off at 6000rpms... I could really use a cam regrind.

i.c. did your engine sound funny before it blew? You wrecked it downshifting correct? Mine has a funny sound that sounds like a light knock at like 5500 but its silent at lower rpms even floored...

I've heard from a fellow member on here (Steve) that he switched oil filters and it got rid of that the annoying ticking sound that most hondas have. He switched to a purolator gold from autozone. I've adjusted my valves twice in the past year and I just got my 94 prelude and it does it to so it must be a honda thing, but Steve said he can't hear the ticking anymore.

I'm a pretty balanced driver, I take off about average speed and maybe once or twice a drive will lay into it, but not necessarily redline it. My SHO was redlined daily, it was just too much fun not too, the redline was 7k and I routinely bounced it off the rev limiter at 7300. The 3gee got redlined a fair amount when I had it, I just didn't think it was as much fun in a straight line as it was in a corner though so it saw more tire squealing action then anything.

even when i push it i usually shift at 5500. after that the power loss just doens't make it worth it unless you're racing. 5500 once every few weeks, redline once every month maybe.
