    power steering boot leak

I noticed the passenger side boot is torn on my power steering rack and is leaking, seemed to leak a fair amount overnight. I started a search, but working 11 hours a day doesn't give me much time. I need to buy some time on this fix and it seems a lot of guys just disable th epump and lose p.s. Is there anything wrong with doing this just to buy 2 weeks or a months time. Thanks for any advice. Doug

I had to replace mine last year, same problem. I drove around for 6 months without any problems, just take belt off now because you don't want to ruin the pump too. You can get a reman. rack for about $150, that's what I did after looking at some in the junkyard. You may be able to have a honda specialist shop reseal yours, if you want to take it out yourself (PITA)....check around, that may be cheapest way to go.
Problem is the dust boots crack, then road dirt gets into the rack and ruins seals. I still have 2 dust boots I didn't use, and I'll let you have them cheap.
