You need to read my friend. Go to the how to section it's in there under carb to efi. From what I've read carotman is the expert around here on that. Here's the link.

Yup, basicaly read what's there, if you still have questions, scavenge through the posts, many questions have already been answered.
I will be glad to help you in your quest.
I know it IS possible to do it. My car has been running fine for almost 3 months now with the EFI system.

Dido just finished my conversion - If you got any questions just PM me, maybe I can help
89 efi conversion
17" katana, lude arms, full 2" exhaust/hollowed cat, Ractive intake, centerforce dual friction, msd coil/wires
There is a lot of work involved but it can be done and it is not really that hard if you just take your time and read carotman's page you can do it.
In my opinion the easiest way is to get a complete parts car from the same year as yours 86,87 or 88,89 with the same trans. and do a complete engine swap rather than bolting on all of the EFI components to your carbed engine.
I did my swap in about 2 long weeks.
Good luck dude.....
so are you saying that the tranny from different years are not compatible ?![]()
My 87 tranny bolted right on to my 89 engine
No, all 5 speed trans are the same 86-89. just different gear ratios between carbed and efi. I just put an 87 trans in my 88 car, which has an 89 engine in it.
