    Question idles up and down

    my car idles up and down,what could be causing that and how can i fix it?

    was an 89 coupe Lxi, but now is an 89 dodge colt hatch with a GST under the hood :)

    u need to check ur idle screw....the Lxi's tend to be loose...mine worked itself out a few times..once the idle gets too high it starts going up and down....look at it to see if its a good portion of the way in. If its not that..then u have a vaccum leak somewhere...

    Could be a vaccum leak, dirty/clogged fast idle valve, injectors, or maybe an worn out O-ring in the TB.

    check your cooling system..have u opened the radiator cap lately, changed coolant..etc
    make sure u bleed the air inside

    another might be the fast idle valve...spray some carb cleaner in it

    change your pcv valve, mine was doing that and it fixed it..

    help for ya

    hello,
    so it does it whenyour inpark or neutral right?
    Is so then it is your IACV or EACV engine air control valve or idle air controll vavle same thing i think,You might need a new one, try getting an engine diagnostic done, and see, dont waste money u know
