    My 1989 Aerodeck Ex

ok guys need some advice. Im from the UK and own a 1989 aerodeck accord. Firstly, the car has 140'000 miles on it, is it worth puttin money into?
If yes, i am going to spend around £3000 on the car, i want to do alot of engine modifications and make the car as quick as possible, im not too up to date with my performace mods, so could anyone give me a list and a small expalination of the main factors that i should change to make my car a mean machine? thanks guys,
p.s: im puttin out about 120bhp standard, after spending around 3grand, wot sort of bhp could i expect? thanks, brendan

    u.k 3g accord!

    hi there!
right this is your lucky day!
where abouts in the u.k are you? i'm in london southeast near qe2 bridge sidcup!
i have everything you need to turn a 2g prelude or 3g accord into a tarmac terror from advice to parts your best bet is to phone me 07734285024.
but for 3000 we could do something really special if your willing to do a lot of the hardwork!

but main thing to worry about is not the mileage it's the body! engines gearboxes etc. can all be replaced! cheaply as well london and other towns are full of 3g accords which are all good scrap cheap too e.g whole engine plud box 150 squid! i also have contacts in motor trade for new parts etc. as well as any specialist machining!
so if your body is mint then if you want something different then hell ya i could put a package together that will turn your granny mobil i to an evo eater!! check out my cardomain page look under rjudgey when searching www.cardomain.com mine are two 2g preludes but i've allways had a soft spot for 3g accords plus theirs are all but the same except for body panels!
i don't do t is as a business more of a motoring club i have two preludes and a friend of mine has another one too, i'm in it for trackday racing cause it's so much fun scaring the life out of a evo or scooby owner!
hopefully your local and maybe meet up for a pint! well not untill i get my liscense back anyway! another 6 days 32 minutes left!!

Hi... We have 2 aerodecks in out family, Ill post some pics up later. One of them was bought for parts, and my dads driving the other around. Im planning to modify it suspension, body, wheels. And ideally the engine but ive got another project (Custom VW) that i need to finish first! Ill probably need to buy another accord in the future though, as its sadly not injection. Mods so far include full stainless steel longlife exhaust (2.25", 3.25 " tip) and a ITG bolt on air filter yet to be fitted.

Oh yea, sorry were based in The south west.

    Are you on MSN Messenger?

Good to see some people from the UK seeing the potential of these cars!

I'd definately go turbo. Im not that knowlegeable on turbo systems, but from what ive read on here, they are the way to go with the a20. You need to start searching, especially reading posts but " sean ". He has one of the few turbo'd accords on here, and has recently opened Accord Central
He seems really helpful, so im sure he'd help you out with any advice. Although i'd advise you to read a lot of the info on 3geez before you go asking newbie questions

Anyway, look foward to hearing from you..And i'd like to get a MP3 of your car if thats ok

I'd definitely do the work to that car - I love aerodecks
As far as a power boost, turbo is the way. Sean has done a really nice job and there are quite a few threads on turbos you can check out.
It sounds like you're set for parts with rjudgey; I wish there was someone like that here on my island.

well us U.K hondas should stick together problem is we don't have a cheap way of getting turbo and manifold but we do have plenty if second hand weber dcoe's and dgv's so u say that having a carb based 3g aerodeck is bad but really it's not, u could put a dgv 38/38 on or convert to dcoe's or dhla's with a re-built motor and a well flowed head 180-200bhp is possible! any u.k cars in need of help just e-mail or phone me no worries! p.s i go to cardif quite a bit or are you in cornwall?

I did think about carbs but apparently there not the best way to go for turbo applications? Although I have seen it done many times, renault 5 gtt's for example (probably a bad example ). Unless you'd want to build a N/A engine. What kinda HP is your prelude engine putting out?

As far as seans turbo kits go. Im sure he could caluculate the weight of the kit, including all the electronic side of things, and get a shipping price. It would be so much easier, its all bolt-on from what ive heard. Do you have much experience with turbos?

Im in Bristol. I havent passed my test yet though, maybe we could meet later in the year.

Nice amount of power to play around with What are the 0-60 and other times like with that sort of power? What kinda of racing do you do?

My email address for msn messenger is [email protected] we can chat there if you want, or email me if you havent got messenger.

Can i ask why you dont just buy an aerodeck and transfer your engine/gearbox into that?
