the only diffrence it will make in hp is if you change the Pipeing as well ( you can put in a bigger flex pipe and sports cat ) that will help your HP as well but if you don't do any of those then its just for sound
oh and ya wich muffler you getting ? (brand name)
I don't think you are gonna get a performance gain just from a muffler, you would have to upgrade your piping also. you will more than likely get better sound tho.
Damn....he beat me to it lol.![]()

LOL :flipa:
i don't know, i noticed a pretty big increase with just a muffler, then a little more when i upgraded the piping.

i sold the honda. now working on a car with little bit more potential, an 88 supra. i still stop by occasionally.
Everyone's idea of guessing how much more power they get for any mod seems to be quite different, we're all just guessing a sensation so that makes sense. I hardly noticed a difference when I got larger piping and a muffler. When I installed my header, that's when the party began, a noticeable difference that made the price of the header AND exhaust system totally worth it.:super:

Well, that's what I used to have, wrecked, 7/3/02.
Now I d
Generally when you are upgrading the exhaust system, the point is to free the flow of gasses exiting the car. The less curves and the larger the piping all adds up. There is one draw back its backpressure. If you go to much like if you run staight header as an example or to big of piping you could be in danger of fauling plugs and damaging the internals of your engine and cause valve damage. This is cuased by the amount of exhaust going back up into the car.
2 1/4" piping is plenty for the accords unless you are modded to hell. The type of bending done to the pipe makes a difference. All performance mufflers will sound different, but if the have a free flow design they will all produce about the same amount of power. generally looking at it the cat back system will produce ruffly 10 hp. Basically when you look at mufflers pay attention to sound and styling. Just because it has a big rice burner tip doesnt mean it sounds as good as the smaller tipped one. I have magna flow on my car i like it myself but ive heard good things form dynomax andflow master as well there are a few other companies as well that make quality mufflers.
hmm and you thought the reverse polarity of the sun made you loose to a 3rd gen accord
i got the muffler i dont really notice anything performance wise but it sounds a hella lot better and it only cost me 54$ he said if i wanted to do the full piping it wold be 150$
i think you can get the pipeing done alot cheaper then that .. i only paid $75 CAN for my pipeing ( 2 1/4 inch) from cat
