transmission question

what do i need to do to my honda accord 87 (carburator) automatic transmission to fix it. The problem is that i have to let go of the gas pedal every time i want it to shift gears. First and second shifts right, but for second to third and so on i have to let go of the gas pedal. I thought that it might be the TV cable so im thinking on adjusting it. But im not sure what it is. If you guys have any ideas please let me know.

It could be the TV cable is too tight... or you could have a low level of ATF in the trans.

Make sure there isn't a crimp in the cable... and also make sure the throttle linkage isn't getting hung up...

@ WOT (checed by looking at the thottle linkage or throttle butterflies) the TV lever should be 2mm-3mm away from hitting it's max allowed upward travel. Meaning there should be 2mm-3mm of play in the lever after WOT, chech it by holding WOT and lifting the TV lever by hand...
if it has the right amount of play you're good...
if it has no play then there is your problem....
if it has a lot of play then adjusting it to lower the shift point will work but you'll add even more play to the lever... chances are in that case it isn't the trans cables fault.

thanks ill try that i hope is just that and nothing big the oil level is ok i already checked it so i think is the TV cable but ill check it again to make sure. thanks
