89 LXi Engine Swap - Nissan SR20DE Motor

My friend has a 200sx SE-R and will soon be upgrading to a new engine. We were talking about it and were thinking it might be fun to swap my 89 accord lxi with his old engine. My accord is at about 256 k and has been unused for the past 7 months. We already have a welder what not and enough technical knowledge to get by. The engine he would give me would be a SR20DE Nissan engine with about 100k. It a very good engine that is capable of running up to 400 hp. Stock it is a 140 hp & 132 ft. lbs. torque 4-cylinder 2.0L engine. It would be a very nice upgrade from my 120 hp Honda motor. Of coarse there would be a bit of custom fabrication to be done, a new tranny and computer would be needed, but I think it would be a doable build as they are both front wheel drive cars. I’ve got nothing better to do this summer anywho.

What would be the best way to approch a build like this?

You'd be better off NOT doing it.

its possible, but you're gonna need some deep pockets (or a VERY good imagination) do swap that motor in. i'd say its a waste of your time. you only live once. why sweat about doing that motor swap?

I'm tempted now . Perhaps i'll just rebuild my 3geez motor. Or buy a 200sx with a dead motor. My story is I havn't touched a car in 6 months becuase i've been living in Fl. In two months i'll be home again.

I've seen an 80-84 CIVIC whit a carbed CA20E on the junkyard awhile ago. It was running before b/c the Civic has rear end collision.

PPL here in Mexico can try weird things to save money. I say go for it .

I've been doing some research and i think that buying an '89 240sx and swapping the motor with the sr20 is the way to go. I can get a good 240sx for $1000 and the motor will be freeish. The sr20 bolts right into the '89 240sx chassis. Will end up costing about $2000 total which is well in my price range for a rwd 160 hp fun car.
