    Problems After Vac line removal

Ok, i just did the vacuum line removal. Now the car will do good to start, i can barely get it over 1000RPMs,and its smoking like a whore and bogs down when i slam it too the floor and i am dripping coolent from somewhere near the back of the carb it looks like. What should be adjusted first? A/F or idle?

    I can't figure it out...

Check to make sure you have the coolant line hooked back up to the carb. That could be causing the leaking. I forgot to do that and coolant was everywhere. If it's just a slow leak, check to make sure the clip is tight.

Only thing I can think of is to make sure you have vac line #14 hooked up to the back of the carb. I'm pretty sure that draws the fuel in. There are 3 ports on the back of the carb on top. It should be the one closest to the driver's side. That needs to be hooked up to manifold vacuum.

What color is the smoke? If it is dark/grey you may be running very rich causing you to experience the bogging down and lack of response. Make sure the choke is not closed. If it is it will cause the engine to run extremely rich. It may start well with the choke in the closed position, but once it warms up it will do what you are describing. Also, since the choke uses vacuum to come off, you may have removed the vacuum lines that allow it to do so. If the choke checks out fine, you may need to readjust your mixture screw. Hope this helps.

    Screwing in leans the mixture.
