dunmb ? i know. but cant remember

i feel stupid to ask this question but , i dont know where the secondary butterflies are at my intake and the is an 89. i have had the intake off before and dont remember seeing and butterflies, but that might be because i was so wasted i passed out in the front line that night. im gonna work on my car this weekend trying to trace a vaccuum leak and try to get the car running right below 3 grand. dont worry alcohol will not be involved this time. sorry for asking a dumbass question.

they are controlled by a vacuum diaphram on the timing belt side of the intake manifold.

    actully your higer end perfomance.
when i had my lx-i i felt it kick in around 3,500-4,200 rpm's.
but there's a mod, where you can have the butterflies open at all time's where it'll improve your low-end.
