Help! Signal electrical problem!

So here's the symptoms...

Put key to ON position, don't start car, turn signals and hazards work. Start car, the turn signals and hazards STOP working.

I notice that when I have the key in OFF position and hazards on, as I put the key to ON position the 'flasher relay' on the fuse panel stops making the ticking noise and more like a grinding whining noise for a couple seconds and then begins to go back to ticking normally..... untill I start the car and it stops working all together.

Any suggestions?????

I was tugging on wire yesterday... perhaps one is loose.. but WHERE?!?!?

Hi, I not shure, but I think check Hazard signal switch on steering column first if yours there.

my problem was in the ignition switch itself. i just removed the plastic covers around my steering shaft, and removed the switch contacts from the oppisate side from the key hole, and took a can of honda brake/contact cleaner to it.
