My uncle f**c up my ride of july 03

This is what my uncle did to my ride. I just bought it May last year (03) with just rust at the rear quarter panel. My uncle does body work, so he said he was going to patch up the rust. I gave him the keys to my car. Next week he crashes it. That was about 3 days after my birthday in July the 1st. it took me the entire summer to fix it. My uncle and me did the work. He just cut the rust out and welds it back. I did all the sanding and paint (prime) except for the final paint. I do not have a pic of the finish job but i will soon. i finishes working on it about march 04. There is more drama that i tell u allot of next week i will work on it (uncle promises).

Man my hatch has rust in the same area. What's the best way to fix it? Weld new metal on or cut the entire piece of rust off and then weld a new piece of sheet metal on?

Your asking him which way is the best way to fix it? Don't you think if he knew his car wouldn't look like that??

Sorry about your car man, but there's still hope for it

hey, since your workin on the fenders now, see if you can do a wide body conversion. i dunno, if he knows body work, he should be able to fab something up. well, let us know how everything goes.

i am not a ture body man. my fahter is the true bodyman my uncle is the half job bodyman. i just know a couple of thing, like sandind priming, using bodyfiller, taking out miner dents. the best way to get the rust out is to cut it out, beacuse if you do not cut it out, it will still be there. cut it out and weld sheet metal back on it. Me and my uncle cut the sheet metal of an old hood of a car and weld it to my car. we freestly it(in other word it do not look like the factor quarter panel). i thing u can buy the exact sheet meal and weld it back.
the quickess way to get rid of the rust is to sand it and put bodyfiller over it. that will not last long after u paint it. the rust will start to reappear. cuting it last way longer. my car is fix now,i am just too cheap to buy a camera.
