oh yea, that happened to me i had a job interview, just took it off and put it in the trunk iand kept driving.
but i paid $90 had the exhaust from the back of the cat sized up, no resonator and a daul tail muffler. with life warranty
nah i had him put in my new easy flow exaust and it cost more labor 2 put it on bcause he has to do extra work

and hes charging how much for parts and labor for the exhaust?
400 for parts and about 250 for labor, so about 7-800, 1000 is exagerated lol my bads

whoaaaa Not to make ya feel bad but my entire exhaust including 2.25" tubing from the headers end all the way back, a 36" turbo muffler for a resonator, turbo muffler and chrome tip only ran me 250. I know I live in Smallsville GA but dayum. Their tubing made of gold? Whats so special about the job you are having done that would justify that kinda price? What exactly is an "easy flow exhaust"?
the only thing i could see that would merit some extra labour or cost would be to weld on some hangers...but even then, its not that big of a deal. Up here north of the border, a new 2.25" all the way back with hangers would only cost 350-400CAD.

I only paid $350 canadian for 2 1/2 inch stainless all the back.
hell yah he's ripping you off. people get full custom exhaust done for way cheaper than 700. and it's not as hard as he tells you. my buddy who works at a muffler shop did a full exhaust from the down pipe for an RV in 40 mins.
3geez for life.
from the cat back no resonator, 2 1/2 pipe, magnaflow muffler, 272 after tax
