i was wondering if anyone had any interesting facts about the 3g that they wanted to share. like, wasnt it the first family sedan in the US to have double wishbone suspension or somethin like that?

My Accord
They are all slow, thats not new or interesting though.
The 3rd gen Accord was the first full production run at the Marysville, Ohio plant. That plant is the first in the US to produce RHD and LHD on the same assembly line.

the 3g is the only accord to ever have flip-up headlights

ummm only honda i know of that frikin' has bad engine vibrations at idle!?!?!? it's frikin' annoying and pisses me off. if you have 5 spd, you don't really feel it cus you release the clutch or have the gear in neutral, but if you have auto you feel the steering wheel vibrate like crazy at idle. worn engine mounts they say? well, even after replacing them you still feel it. like the crank was never balanced from the factory or something. all i can say is, engine swap?
I believe the stock ride height for a 3rd gen Accord is the same as a Mk. III Supra, don't know if you'd call that interesting or not.

a 3gee is a poor mans car
now that is interesting![]()
the first to have lock one lock all feature.
the first to come out with smpefi injection.
first when you have the driver door opened, and try to lock it won't, prevent from locking keys inside, i guess.
one thing i hate though is every car company had efi, while on the dx/lx was carb.
no mater how hard i drive this thing.... it wont vreakin break !!!! i always reach high RPMs b4 i shift .... PHEW man... it takes the beating and i got 192 k on it right now
NA>TT Underway
Are there any other sedans in the North American market with flip up lights?
Perfection is simply a matter of replacing parts.
dam.im still thinking about that RHD deal.
Heres a small pic site of mine.

Now give me some dam TP.
so far all the 3g i've seen had flip up lights.
skull ya just now realizing that now, lol.
my 86 lx had over 225000mi. on it.
and i drove it hard everyday, rarly in winter, though.
that's another reason why i bought another one.
You guys are _so_ owned. Mine's made in Sayama, Japan. I actually drool over the fact that real Japanese people have designed and built my car. It gives me this warm, fuzzy feeling inside, like when you are in love.Originally Posted by k-roy
Btw, mine's also taking alot of beating, but it _just_ _won't_ _break_! Got to love the fantastic build quality.
Well you know ur a 3g owner if u use the ebrake and side of the passenger's side seat as a cupholder. I guess thats an interesting fact.
Thinking about getting a new 3g...
uhhh my 86 lx was made in japan . . . . .
i'll admit just like you DAMN those can take a beating.
but my 88 lx, was made in OHIO BABY!
AMERICAN IMPORT!
but i still don't see the difference, it's STILL A HONDA.
and honda knew what he was doing . . . . . . .
My '86 and '89 were both made in Japan. I guess I just lucked out on that one.
too true. it's actually pretty handy. it's like "well.., since we won't put cupholders in the LX-i's and lower, we'll make it so between the e-brake and seat can be a makeshift cupholder". it's almost a perfect fitOriginally Posted by Bloodlust

boom boom japan...mine is from japan..lol.
nothing interesting but hey i dont have to do a jdm conversion
the 3gee and 2gee are the only accord models to ever come in a hatch, 1990 and up ones became more family-like and they were available in wagon form. gotta hand it to the 3gee though, the only 16 yr. old car that still runs very good if well maintained. whenever i drive my 3geez and stop next to an early 90 to late 90's domestic car at a red light, my car sounds way better. hell even some newer domestics sound like crap already.
I thought I was the only one to do that.LOLOriginally Posted by Not like a rock
lol i do it too...only thing is ill always slam it in reverse then hit the brakes hard n my drink will go all in the backseat....done that a few times so i try n not use it too much
1st gen was a hatch too!Originally Posted by ICEMAN707
