    ? on vacuum removal

After going through 30 feet of new vac line and and being about half way through replacing all the rotted rubber on my accord (I am not joking). I'm pulling the lines tomorrow following the updated diagram keeping the ac idle up, vac secondary and choke. I do have one question though, which way is the vacuum check valve supposed to go in? I'm assuming it's supposed to allow vacuum from 30 to pull open the dash pot, but after 10 hours of tracing these infernal little tubes I'm not sure I trust my judgement.

    Thanks,
    Iron

If anyone's wondering what my breaking point was, it occured when I opened the black box on the passenger side and discovered it had been assembled by blind midgets.

Just make sure that the distributor can get vacuum, the last thing you want is a surge of positive pressure to the distributor. Thats why you need the valve. Thats the only valve I used.

I'm still not positive on this. On the new diagram in the how to section, there's a vacuum check valve on line 6 connecting a dash pot to line 30 which runs between the ac idle boost solenoid and the distributor. Now if I'm reading the diagram correctly, the valve should be installed so vacuum is allowed to draw on the dashpot and not the otherway around right?

you don't need the check valve... but I believe some hondas had it installed in that area... if you don't see your check valve when you removed the vacuum lines then don't worry about it.

The check valve is the green plastic thing with the blue end, right? I put the fat end closest to the carburetor. What is that thing it plugs into, anyway?

Oh yeah, I did the vacuum line removal today as well. I kept the choke and vacuum secondary. The car runs like ass and doesn't idle, but I haven't touched the A/F mix or anything yet, and the distributor is getting vacuum from the wrong place.

Man it was fun to pull out those plastic UFO things. I found myself repeating, "what do you do? Nothing!" and tossing them into the garage.

    The vaccum idle controller diaphragm...

if you put on the check valve the wrong way the diaphragm wont get vacuum or will get very little...

you may want to adjust your throttle stop screw to get your car to idle better but only after the car has fully warmed up... then turn on a few of the cars accessories and throw the car in gear if you are auto and then add more idle with the idle diaphragm adjustment screw.
