I'm due for a new exhaust system. I can tell by the size of the hole in my muffler (on the bottom, 2"x2") all the rust, and the leak before my cat. Well, I want to keep everything normal under there. I don't want to have to hack up a bunch of crap to hang the muffler. I'm not looking for the big giant power gains, nor the noise factor. If i wanted that I'd get an old chevy nova w/ a 350 long block and uncapped headers. I can order the piping w/ the flex tube from a local parts store for about $240. And then there's that damn cat. I'm not sure how long that baby will last. It's held up good, but I'm worried that if I get new piping, and unbolt the old stuff, It's gonna be shot. (I once ran a straight pipe on an '86 olds, man did that baby make some noise!) Well, I'm looking for suggestions. I want to stay away from serious alterations to my car's underbody, and I want to stay reasonable. And I want something that's quality. Who can fill in those criteria? What sections are sold? I understand that the pipe from manifold to cat (w/ flex pipe) is one unit... what about from the cat back to the muffler? Is that one nice unit of special expensive shit? The muffler will definately be replaced, but need some suggestions.
