I have a question.How much if not much can we get out of a stock 86 dx carb engine?

if you spent some money on P&P, bump up piston comression, and add Weber DCOE carbs, with some nice wild cam, i am sure you can get about 160hp at the wheels.

yeah, but that kind of setup will require a lot of money.
your best solution would be to get a hold of sean and get his stand alone ECU. this will help ya to convert to EFi and get his Turbo package. you will be set to run 10-12psi of boost all day long without blowing the motor.

with his ECU, you will have no problems converting to EFi. all you will have to do is bolt EFi intake manifold, run extra fuel line and you are done.
