    I don't have clear blinkers

but i have a 1988. is it because i have a hatch? or do the 86-87 fit on mine and maybe the previous owner replaced them or something?? I'm just curious. I just installed some mirror LED side markers and fog lamps and would love to compliment that with the clear lense blinkers. just want to hear if i should head to the junk yard or not

If you have a hatch they don't have clear signals. All years 86-89 have the same 86-87 style bumper. Hope that helps.

they must have changed the bumper because all of the 88-89 had clear ones which will only fit in the 88-89 bumpers. Also, the 86-87 lenses only fit in the 86-87 bumpers. so they did somthin wierd.

All hatches regardless of year have the 86-87 style front bumper, therefore, no clear lenses.

What the heck, I'll third that statement. Sucks don't it? On the other hand you can get the bumper from an 88-89 coupe or sedan and the bumper lights and they bolt right up.

Very easy, take out the front blinkers each held in by two screws, take the two bolts out behind each blinker, look in the wheels wells, you should see two screw that go into the front bumper, remove those, now look under the front bumper, if there still there and not rusted out there may be some bolts holding it on from the bottom. After you get those out your all set to just pull the bumper off.

Hey, on the 86 bumpers, is the yellow reflector on top of the clear light? like is there a clear blinker under the yellow blinker that is screwed on. or is it all one peice?

The 86-87 lenses and all the hatch lenses are made out of orange plastic.

so its all one peice? i was reading someones mods on a 87 accord and he said he removed orange reflector from the bumper blinkers. i thought it was on top of a clear one, so is it inside or something?

Nope all one piece unless he put the 88-89 bumper on(88-89 lights won't fit in an 86-87 bumper). Only way is to swap bumpers or make your own.

Make your own with some plexi-glass... It took me about 45 minnutes to get the pieces measured and cut out. It looks like it was bought at a store. Jim use to make some, if you're nice he might bust a set out for you...

4 bolts and 8 screws, if you count the 4 holding the bumper lights on. 2 bolts behind each bumber light and 2 more screws at each of the front wheelwells where the bumber is.

Yeah thats alot of work. I wouldnt suggest doing it without a spotter, a full nights rest, and definitely dont try doing less than an hour after you eat. You might get a cramp and drown

LOL. 15 minutes of work is just too much for some people. Lay off.

Nah, I say stick with the 86-87 style (stock h/b) and get your own clear lenses. I like the look of the 86-87 bumper better.
