Smufguy, help w/ FPR, please!

I did a search and found a thread that explains what "smufguy" used(B&M FPR part # 46051). I bought one and when I went to install it I found it wouldnt fit. The ring that goes around is too big and wont allow B&M FPR to sit properly. Do I have to trim that as well? Please help!

I basiclly know how to do it, but my problem is that the accord FPR wont fit in the civic FPR(B&M). The lip on the accord one wont slide in.
