    Talking New Intake

Well, I just bought a 92-95 Civic Short Ram air intake off eBay for $34 shipped. They really get you on that shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7906101095
Anyways, I know it's a short ram, and I know it's not as good as true CAI, and I know that you're probably going to flame me anyways for sucking up hot air, but I figure it's at least a little better than stock. Have to go up to Canada, but when i get back, it should be here. Yipee, can't wait.

yah i had one too, who the hell gives a rat's ass, it sounded cool! and i'm carbed. but if you ever decide to do true CAI, it only takes a bit to do. all you need is the right materials and the right tools.

Yeah short rams are cool. I have one on my Honda. Had it on about 6 months now and it still looks new. Filter on it is not even dirty either.

heres my new intake I'm not sure if its gonna fit, but I don't have the civic airbox yet.
I may only get 13-18 MPG, but try and follow me in the mud and you'll get stuck.

The sound is what I'm really looking forward to. I know the sound is supposed to be noticeable, but just HOW noticable is it?

i dont think thats gonna fit, your gonna have to remove the battery to fit that thing. or you'll have to cut 3/4 of the pipe off.

it will be louder, and your engine will sound like a Subaru Impreza WRX's Ehaust haha. its not a sewing machine sound, its like an exhaust sound. You can even hear it sucking when the car is idle.

civic intake is not the best intake to fit. i had one on my car, didn't like the way it fit.
the best short ram intake i found was from 86-87 prelude. since they had the same engines, it was perfect fit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38634
i have one for sale if anyone wants.

I have a civic intake on mine, but I cut some pipe off and moved the battery to the trunk. Looks fine, and sounds nice.

I've been meaning to take a pic, but I wanted to sand it and give it a final paint coat cause I screwed up the paint job when I did it. Oh well, here are the before pics:

So, I'll re-paint the intake, clean up the car and will take more pics later

Keruhas, Looks damn good man. What kind of battery relocation kit did you get?

I just ordered an 88-91 civic si black powder coated intake. It should be here pretty soon and I should have the battery relocation kit here pretty soon as well.

I ordered one from summitracing.com One word of advice for relocation: attach the battery box a bit further inside the trunk (by the tire) if you can, because after also removing the AC, my battery lifts up the front a bit. I'll be moving my box myself when I got nothing better to do.

Yeah, I didn't want to take out the shield after it was installed - its attached with like 8 bolts. The paint on the hoses actually doesn't look that bad in real life, its just the camera accentuated it a lot more.

I am probably not going to mount it in the trunk anyways, I plan on putting it right behind the passenger seat since I wont have anyone riding in the rear. Plus I can keep an eye on it in case anything ever goes hay-wire.

I cant wait to get finished on this project. Its been brewing in my head ever since I put that civic box on the carb. I am also planning on throwing in a nice heat shield as well.
