if i get the huge ass ACCEL coil (140001) will it mess up the ECU?
will i have to get a new (or re-time) distributor?

    thanks in advance

I have one and I wish I wouldn't have bought it. I didn't notice any increase in power. I does look nice though. It doesn't do anything to your ecu.

well you won't see any power increase unless you have some basic mods. plus when i got my accel coil, it helped a lot with idle and high rpm band.

Good gravy, that is one clean engine bay! How'd you do it?

One quick question: I got the coil and "connected" it but it is a pain in the ass to connect those big positive wires to that small post. What's the best way to go about it?

I used some soder melt splices and turned the 2 wires into one with a wire coming out the other side and then used an eye hole connector on the posts.

Maybe I will have to keep my A20A1 for awhile longer. I like it... And I just twisted the wires and bent them into a semi-circle and then tightend the nut down onto the wire.

And thanks, I like how it looks too.

Mike, I have an Optima Red Top in my car, too! How long have you had yours? I bought mine last Thanksgiving and was wondering if it really will last twice as long as conventional batteries. Here in the Dallas area conventional batteries last only about three years thanks to the summer heat.

I put on some eye-hole connectors and sodered the wires to them, and finally connected the eye-holes to the posts! Works like a charm! The wires won't be popping off now. I only left it connected all crappy cuz I had to leave in a hurry: dad was on his way to the hospital in an ambulance. It's all good now.

Dont' waste your money. Upgraded coil will do nothing for your car's performance if your original coil is working good.,
