83 2nd Gen accord 1.6 problem...strange

I know this is quite an old car, but it run quite. Recently when i
accelerate at certain speed (i tried transmission 2,3,4,5) and leave the
clutch pedal and fuel pedal, (the gear is still on) some strange noise like
"pop pop pop" will come out from my engine. Anyone know what problem is
this?? gasket blown??... the sound come out everytime I do this, normally
like I went down from hill, I put in gear 2 and let all pedal off, the
sound is very obvious, it come out continuously.anyone know, please help.

Is the sound out of the exshaust? If so it could be a diverter valve on manifold that takes in fresh air on declereration. I'm not to up on these cars but if it has a air pump take belt off and see if it helps.

i'm not sure where it came from, but obviously is from engine room... i'm not sure coz can't test where is the sound really came from.. (can't hang myself above the engine room while the car run). and which air pump you talking about??

Backfire out of carb means you need a distribter cap rotor & plugs
backfire out of exshaust pipe means a fautly pollution pump/devise usally or worse case senerio bad valve timing/valves/timing belt worn
