    tranny problem

ok, so i was on the freeway for a while because of traffic, and when i finally started moving, the car wouldn't stay in D4. it would shift up through 1, 2, and 3 with no problem. When it tries to shift up to 4 it would just downshift into 3... and then 2. when i got home, i had a look at the tranny fluid. i think i remember it being red-er when i put it in. it looked sort of brown-red on the dipstick.

Do i need a new transmission? or is it something that flushing the tranny will take care of?

    thanks for your help... again...
