FREE 86 honda accord!!

Guys I just got an 86 honda accord hatch LXI AUTO for FREE. I saw it at this gas station and I noticed that it didn't have a forsale sign on it, but i have seen it there a couple times and figured that I would just ask about it. I talked to the owner of the gas station. He didn't know a whole lot about it but, he told me that it has been sitting out there about a year and it dosent run do to snapped timing belt. The interior had some junk to clean out but was pretty clean and the outside has no rust (thats right no rust). I have about 1,000 dollars to put into it. Possibly switch to manual? What do you guys think i should do?

Yeah i'm gonna try to get some pics to you guys in the next couple of days. I dont have a digital camera, but i'm thinking about trying one of those throw away ones. I saw on at a Kmart near my house the other day.
