did u just get a new camera? lmao haha
looks awesome man besides the rust![]()
Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it.
Yeah, the paint needs to be redone. After all, we're talking about the original factory job (not bad by any means), but 17 years of year-around driving has taken it's toll on it. The bumpers were originally black, but the previous owner (Morten) had them painted. To bad the paint was sprayed direcly on them, with no rub-down, no primer, and no clear-coat. Rims are in the works, I'm currently looking at either the Work Equip 01's or the SpeedStar SSR Formula Mesh', in 15-inch height, 8 inches width, and offset around 30 mm. It was probably The Great Dane who had new wheels, he has gotten some ATS Cup in 7*15 ET29.front bumper needs a touch up, but hey, the pix are nice man. some new rims and you'd be stylin. wait, i thought you had got some new rims. maybe that was another guy with the same front?
The camera is my trusty old Canon PowerShot A60. I also used a tripod for all the pictures. Then they were framed, resized and colour-corrected in Photoshop 7.0.What camera did you use for those pics?
No, the Autobahn is approx. 1500 kilometres away from me. Maybe if I go to Germany on vacation at a later time.Have you had it on the autobahn yet???
Definately! But I wanted to exploit the "good" light conditions tonight (relativly dark, raniny and cloudy). It's the best light to take pics in, as the Sun does not cast those horribly hard-to-avoid-in-pictures shadows. With cloudy weather, one does not have to work "against" the sun.your car just need a deep wash
EDIT: I do not have Xenon parking lights, the color-correction made them blue-toned. The color-correction was really needed, as the tunnel-pics came out slightly green, and some of the others looked blue.

the car does look super minus the rust....... some new wheels would do wonders for yor car.
Your 4MB signature image has been deleted.
^And I'm going to leave it that way.
I wonder what that front end would look like on a coupe? those are some really nice picz
your car is a little rusty but hey its a 3gee, dude those pics are like desktop worthy, i wish i had a camera like that. i think the way you even elaborated on the rust and the little random things on your car made it so much more artistic. nice work, i also think you and your car is like a role model for the 3gee......its a little old and a little rusty but it still keeps up, and you are still proud to death of it. i say accord of the month dude seriously.

I hate to brag, but my camera is just totally plain. It's your standard camera, but it's out of production now; outdated, supposedly (sp?). The concept of taking a good picture is 20% camera, 60% user and 20% luck. I have taken a few pics (3000?) with this camera, so I basically know it inside-out. I know how it will behave in a given situation and can compensate for it.Originally Posted by howndamane
I totally agree, however, on your description of our relationship with our 3G's - it's practially bullseye.
But Accord Of The Month? You flatter me! I don't think I'm worthy. There must be 100's of members with more tricked out 3G's than mine. Granted, I love my 3G and would love for it to hold the title of AOTM, but is it really worthy? I'm still rolling around on 13-inch steelies, and various dents and scratches are found scattered around on it.
Oh, about wallpapers - just request it in this thread, and I will make them. Use the filename of the image (click on "image properties, and get the filename; for example "accord_05.jpg").

Man I love the pictures you take they are always so clean and clear. I should fly you over hear to take some pictures for me. the pictures that are close to the object look really good.
I was thinking you seem like you know quite abit about taking pictures, if you have some extra time you should try to do a little write up about just little things to make them turn out better.![]()
Thank you very much! I hope my efforts helps the 3G community and inspire you guys to take great pictures on your own. I will definatly do a write-up on how to take good pictures at a later time, possibly tomorrow.Originally Posted by 86 accord in C.P.
I'm just about to start experimenting with mounting the camera on the car via a suction-cup (?)-legged tripod. That technique gives cancer-inducing good pictures, and fantastic motion-possibilities. I'm also about to take pics with a second car that moves in the same speed and direction as the object that is beeing photographed, like, the 3G is following the camera car, and I myself is in the back of it taking pictures. I only have to find someone I trust enough to drive my precious 3G.
Beautiful pictures! Do you have any big plans in mind for your car or are you keeping it stockish till it's time to bury it? Are you using some kind of neon light inside the dash?
thegreatdane: Thanks for the comments! I haven't charted out the plans just yet. I'd really love to do something with it, first and foremost maintenance that was neglected by the two people that had it after I sold it to them. It's not horribly much work or money involved to "fix" it, so I really have no excuse not to maintain it. Things needed are: new distributor (jumping tach problem), plugs, plug wires, change transmission oil, (engine oil is changed already), timing belt /w tensioner, valve adjustment, and just in case, a new valve cover gasket, new outward steering joints and a few new balljoints. Also the rust on the body needs to be removed as soon as possible - it's just going to infect more and more of the car as time passes.
So, bacically, I want to fix it before I sink any money into it. What am I going to do with a B20A under the hood if the car is barely carrying it's own weight due to all the rust?
There is a 98% certinty that the car will be put in a warm garage all winter, and get something done that way. I'm sure I can drive the car 30 summers, and it will have rusted as much as it does in only one winter (they use salt on the roads).
EDIT: Interiour is bone stock. Like I said, photography is one of my hobbies, so taking a fairly good interiour-pic is not all that hard. The lighting (also stock) in the gauges and whatnot are really not that intense in real life, I intentionally made it look that way when I took the picture.

I don't know about "totally plain". How about "mostly plain".Originally Posted by Oyvind Ryeng
I have a PowerShot A70 (same, but 3.3 instead of 2.0 MP). The A60, A70, and A80 are your basic cameras with Canon's sweet DiGiX image processor (you can do some cool stuff). You definitely have to get a feel for this camera before you can get shots like yours, though. I've only taken 1367 pictures with mine, but I've only had it since the beginning of this year. I have one question, though.. the auto white balance came out beautiful in all of those shots. Did you manually set it up with the "evaluate white balance" thing or did you have it automatically select white balance? I really like how those came out. Oh, one more thing. Where did you buy your tripod, what kind is it, and where can I find a suction cup tripod? All my pictures are me trying not to wiggle.
Oh yeah, and this camera takes KILLER close ups if you know how to work it. I'm sure the same can be said about any camera, though.
Ahh, one more thing, you're using the standard flash, right? Which intensity setting are you using? Are you using full intensity with a high shutter speed? Sorry for all the questions.. I'm surprised at the lack of noise from the night pics. That's one thing I need to work on.

-White balance were set to "cloudy" in the parking lot series, and the "lightbulb"-icon in the tunnel. The tunnel-pics looked overly green, so the "lightbulb" was probably not the right setting for that kind of ambient light. All images were color-corrected in Photoshop.
-Tripod is a Velebon CX200 (?) baught at a local general electrics/computers/camera-store. It was dirt cheap, about two hours of regular work worth of money. Should have gotten the better model, as it was more rigid, plus it had the ability to tilt the camera sideways.
-I never use the flash. Never. Not in these pictures either. As soon as the shutter speeds needed are lower than 1/50 of a second I use the tripod to maintain perfect sharpness in the pics.
-ISO setting is locked to "50". Higher ISO = More noise.
-The longest shutter speeds used in some of these pictures are 15 (fifteen) seconds at aperture f/2. Try holding the camera dead steady by hand for 15 seconds? You can't? Then get a tripod! It's such a fantastic tool to have when you're taking pictures in low-light conditions. It's not just a tool, it's absolutely neccecary to have; impossible to get sharp pictures in the dark without one.

Man, nice clean pics of your car. Camera takes nice pics, who cares how many magapixals it is, or if it is out-dated. Everything is out-dated a few months later. Anyway, Looks like some crack head got the best of your antenna.![]()

I guess there is a similarity?
Well, I'm happy with my camera, it takes fairly good pics, relative to it's initial cost. Some crackpot has taken it's toll on the follwing:
-Rear antenna.
-Original antenna (front-left of the roof), the power-one.
-Right side rear door.
-Rear bumper.
-Dashboard (it's dented, right above the glove compartement). Annoys the shit out of me - have to replace the entire dashboard.
-Trunk lid (dented on the right side, and some small, hard-to-notice dents where the angle changes, above the "H" emblem).
