ah... well, i just had my front ones replaced.. about 125 each from the honda dealer for the ball joints.. it was about 150 at the parts store... i checked Advanced Auto and Car Quest.... umm they can be done in the driveway but i had mine done in the shop.. all together about $310...with labor... ummm the ass end is about the same price. so yeah... definately cheap to put them in yourself.. safer with a garage doing it... and youre gonna spend about 125ea. regardless where ya go. so hope i helped ya.

I pulled my front knuckle off myself, paid $22 + tax for the joint at a local parts store, and $10 for the shop to install it. So, at that rate, it would be $140 for all four.

$22 bucks for a ball joint - I want that hook up !
I just did front upper/lower on mine I can't remeber exact prices I paid but I got them thru a buddys work discount 40% off and mine weren't that cheap.
You can do them in your drive way its not that hard, but you will probably need a ball joint spreader, to get the old ones apart and you will need the front lower ones pressed in at a shop.

yeah i called autozone and they want
    front upper-$70
    front lower-$30
    rear, upper or lower-$30

why do the lowers need to be pressed in and the uppers do not

The front uppers are part of the whole arm that must be replaced. Those definitely aren't $22! :p
