    Look what I found......

I know most people wouldnt spend 130 bucks for a intake when you can make your own for less than 50.
    Take a look at this......

Its nice to know at least one company is still thinking about us.

Not worth it... besides it's more then likely the same generic designed short ram used on other hondas with the throttle body in the same spot since most run the pipe the same way for that first segment. So don't assume that they made it for us... they just know it will fit.

you can't build your own for $50. just the piping and filters will run up to about $100-150. when i build my CAI, the filters, and pipes run me up to $120.

UNLESS.. you get a cheap APC Civic Short Ram for $50 and cut it a little. once this filter gets bad im replacing with a WR or K&N.

this is how i made mine.

    JC whitney 180 Mandrel U pipe - $12
    Rubber coulers (3 from homedepot) - $10
    Air filter (i got the cheap ass $25 one) - $40 for a K&N

So all then all together u are topping bearly $62 so lets say $65. Now thats bad ass.

Unless you are gonna get a 4g accord one off of ebay or some close out deal. Get it and modify it to get it fit.

You are right about making one from scratch. I should of said you can modify a CAI off ebay for fifty.

Someone should buy one and let us know. I bet the Prelude 86-91 secret intake and the 86-89 accord are the same. LOL

yeah, that is how much it would cost me if i didn't add AEM bypass valve $30 of ebay and another 90 deg bend to make my custom CAI.

even after you get one of those cheap true CAI and not short ram air like the one you have. you still going to pay around $50-70 depends on the type. that did not include rear K&N filter. all those Ebay CAI come with cheap ass restricted filters that are not any different from OEM filter. so lets say you paid $50 for CAI, add $30-40 for K&N filter from ebay, and now to add AEM bypass filter for some safety, it is another $40.
so there you go, you and up over $100+ for real CAI and not short air intake.

Alex, why would u need another 90deg pipe? I got my cold air done with just one 180 deg pipe and its all u need. Just one cut and its dont.. basically.

    (1) straight coupler
    (3-4) 45 degree couplers
    (1) Large K&N filter
(1-2) Long peices of straight 2.5"-3.0" pipe

It would be better in my opinion to have a length of straight pipe after the throttle body instead of having a 45 degree coupler right off the trottle body.

the reason i went with another 90 deg pipe is because i didn't like the way it would turn out with just 180 U pipe. i didn't want to move my battery. so i had to design the piping to fit without moving the battery.
