my cars been running shittly, (stalling and hesitation) The fuel filters, fuel pump and fuel lines should be good (checked not too long ago) newish dist cap, rotor, plugs and wires. I was wondering if the timing belt could be causing these problems.

yea that could be it
It would not hurt to replace it or even re-install it
Just be sure to go by the manual

There could a few things causing that. Being that is an 86', you prolly have a carburetor. Do a timing belt change, time it. Then look at you carb. after that. A carb. rebiuld is always a plus if it hasn't had one.
