Warm the engine, Loosen the Dizzy, disconnect and plug the the two vacuum lines coming off the Distributor connect the timing light and adjust the timing counter clockwise rotation Advances timing and clockwise rotation Retards timing.
15 degrees btdc + or - 2 degrees.

Thats a good rundown for adjusting the timing.
If you do all that and its still off that means your timing belt is not alligned correctly. Good luck!

ok, when i looked there is the center mark, and then there is a mark either side of it. what do those 3 marks mean? and is it 15 degrees or 18 degrees?
The mark above and below are the 2 degree marks. I set mine to the mark below the 15 degree mark,
