I guess it depends on your cam profile

that was with 260 crower. I even messed with the valve timing(two teeth either way) and no hitting.

There is an auto math with the stuff youv want. You need to figure out the current compression, and the cylinder volume in cc's including the head and head gasket. Then just trial and error remove some material and recaculate the compression. It better to look towards a cetain compresion ratio then just want the max limit is. I'll give you the book when I got home tomorrow.

    head skim

have had 1.5mm off my original head beofre having to have it scrapped but that was due to cracked chambers from detonation probably could have gone another .25mm, the downside is it will retard your timing and if you have a mad cam e.g 285 duration or more, the valves may contact the pistons but only a prob if you don't have the pockets machined out, also the Honda pistons have quite good valve pockets only the patent parts pistons will need machining as the valve pockets aren't even close to being in the same position as the valves.
