If I remember corectly There was hardly anything that was the same.

When I was looking into that engine I never got one because I had spent to much money on my a20. I was talking to Mike and he told me I couldn't use my pistons, rods, flywheel, and all this other trick stuff that I had from the a20.

    just my 2 cents

I doubt your headers will work. your intake maybe. your USDM motor is an A series and you are buying a B series motor. different series=different parts.

Where did you order your swap stuff from and how much did it cost total? I've been checking around about B20A swaps and am trying to get the lowest price. Any information you could give me about whoever you're getting your stuff from would be great.

For the JDM B20 ****I think*** you can use parts from the USDM B20 i.e. header, cams, cam gears.

The header is similar between the US and JDM B20A.

The clutch is the same but the T/O bearing is different.

The camgears are much bigger on the JDM.

The rest will have to be verified... maybe the pistons are similar.... but that's about it.

The axles are the same as the A20A Accord.

The B20A uses an intermediate shaft but you can use the USDM axles.

The ECU is different from the USDM Accord and Prelude but someguy is supposed to have used a Prelude ECU with his B20A.

I'm not that familiar with that engine. The oil filter is the same amongst all Hondas.. so no worried here.

The oil pan might be the same..

I will do ALOT of research on that (I got the JDM parts Catalog) and I will compare between the Prelude and the A20A...

We might be able to sort a list of compatible parts

That sounds like the best Idea I ever had....

ok lets clear some things up.. are we all talking about a jdm b20 accord engine or a b20a? and hondasi88 does the $650 include transmission and everything you need to swap? since the b20 is a direct swap, all you really need is the engine and tranny? or is there more like ecu, etc.? and what if your car is auto could you still swap it?

Well I checked everything regarding to the engine and the following are EXACT MATCH for the parts number

    Rings
    13011-PK1-003
    13011-PK1-004
    13021-PK1-003
    13021-PK1-004
    13031-PK1-003
    13031-PK1-004

    Pistons
    13103-PK2-000
    13105-PK2-000

    Rods
    13210-PK2-000

    Clutch
    22200-PK1-000
The pressure plate is supposed to be interchangeable too but aren't the same part number

    JDM
    22300-PH3-J00

    USDM
    22300-PK2-000

That's all that matched my research..

If you get in trouble with the rings/ pistons... they will work OK

    The crank almost matches
    JDM:
    13310-PH3-010

    USDM:
    13310-PH3-020

    So I can't confirm it's compatible but it's close

Oh an the ECU will not match but that doesn't mean that the prelude ECU will not be able to make the Accord engine run.

Here are the ECU numbers for the JDM B20A

    83305-SE3-010ZD
    83305-SE3-010ZB
    83305-SE3-010ZE
    83305-SE3-010ZG

I also added this to the FAQ

I can help a bit. I was very close to buying Mike Lee's but bought something else instead. The headers from a USDM B20 will fit BUT you will need to get it chopped and rewelded at a different angle since the USDM tilts back while the JDM doesn't. There's always a guy on E-bay selling DC and Pacesetter headers for Preludes. You can use most of the USDM engine rebuild kit if you are going to get new gaskets and stuff. You can also get pistons from www.raceeng.com to raise the compression (they quoted me $370 for 11:1). You can also upgrade the rods with ones meant for the h23 if you want. You will also need to do a bunch of work to the ignition system. If you are lucky, you'll have the external ignitor which is usually clipped onto the EGR valve in the intake manifold. The USDM ignitor is a 4 wire while the JDM is a 3 wire (maybe you can rig something up). I don't know how compatible an ignitor has to be but the 5th gen Accords also use a 3 wire from the looks of things. Also, hopefully they gave you the B20 with the simular intake manifold. Like over here, the JDM B20 is supposed to have two different types (when it comes to vaccum connections and stuff) like how ours are different between the 86/87 and 88/89.

I have a bunch of info too like the piston pin sizing and stuff but I'll have to dig those up. I do know that with custom machining to the rods, you can get the B series pistons in there too which would be great since there's so much pistons and rings on E-bay you can get for fairly cheap. There is one guy in Japan I was able to keep in touch who helps run the Aerodeck site and if I can get a hold of him again, I can get some more info. It seems like getting a factory service manual for these engines is EXTREMLY hard but it would be nice if someone could get one.
