    "twisted" exhaust

ok, i'm looking for suggestions here. i put on one of those test pipes off ebay, installed it myself. but now it seems like from the "cat" back the pipe is twisted a little. it hangs down where it makes that L curve to the rear wheel. another problem is that the flex pipe is sorta bent now, and i think its either hitting the heat shield or about to. how can i straighten this out? its almost like its missing a hanger there, but when i push it up with the jack, the exhaust hits the heat shield where the flex pipe is and back where the last piece of tail pipe is attached. another thing that i noticed is that the "cat" was a little longer than the stock one, and a little lighter.

    thanks in advance!

hmmmm soo the catback part is bent. did you have to force it to bend to get the test pipe on? are you sure the flanges mathces up to all 6 bolts? because if it does match up correctly and all the bolts go right through from the beginning with out having to deform the piping then you shouldn't have a problem. sounds like you had to force the test pipe in by bending this and that.

sounds like it being too long is the problem.

here's mine, it's just the right length and all the bolts go in np. didn't have to force it in or anything.

Do you have one of the hanger brackets off perhaps? I know mine kinda looks like it hangs down a little bit but it won't ever hit the ground or anything.

i was looking for a hanger bracket that might not be on, and i can't find one. i put the stock muffler pipe back on there, and it still hangs a little funny. is there a hanger on the pipe between the silencer and the last piece attached to the muffler?

88accordhatchdx bought one of those ebay test "cats" and when we tried to install it, the flanges were so twisted we could not get it to bolt up. I think the best option would be to cut the flange off and re-weld it straight.
