    Threw a Rod.... d*mn!!!

Well i lost my engine due to a sudden storm. Water Hydrolocked my engine and rod #3 came through the front of my engine... I don't want to loose the car so what do you all think would be a good replacement motor?

either the same stock one (a20) or if you can find one get a B20 from a euro or jdm 3g accord (closest to stock engine swap you can do)

yeah i suggest you look for a spare/junk motor and swap it out. There should be buncha members from Florida so check up on em.

A little off topic, I had a 92 ford Tempo with a 4cyl that granaded the rod, and the piston just sat stuck up in the bore, I drove it for like 200 miles with 3 cyls doing 85 on the freeway, it never died. lots of metal in the pan though.

lol, my first car was a 94 tempo. w00t! anyways, i think you're a good candidate for a B16 swap. my friend got an obd0 jdm b16 for $1400 shipped to his door. its a cheap motor. well, more expensive than an A series or the B20A, but def worth the money i think. after a B series swap, you've got an unlimited amount of modding available.

note: by B series, i mean B16s, B18s, and the B20B and B20Z. B20As don't share any parts with the other B series, therefore, they're not a real B series to me. their crank is too big. they're more like an H motor.

    I think the JDM B16A has 160hp. But the european B16A1 (90-91)has 150hp. The european B16A2 (92-95) has 160hp.

Typical. The Japanese (which I by the way love and adore with all my heart) keeps all their top products in their home market.

obd0 JDM B16s were 160 hp. obd1 and obd2 JDM b16s were 170 hp. i have never heard of a european 150 hp b16. if it exists, i assume honda lowered the compression ratio because they didn't think europeans would use premium gas (much like what they did with the B17 in the US, but without stroking it.)
