    i have the worst luck

so yah, im driving home from filming as an extra, and i stop at a traffic light, and all the sudden i'm no longer in gear. i put it in d3, 2, and nothing. it goes into gear with reverse, but yah. so, i somehow manange to get across the intersection and into a parking lot, where i get to wait a few hours for my dad to make it up to where i was to tow me back. dang tranny is gone or something. the first thing i checked when i stopped was my tranny fluid, just fine. basically it just doesn't go in gear, it just revs, and if i'm lucky i get a TINY bit of power to the wheels. i guess the 5spd swap has been pushed up to as soon as it stops raining. /rant

dude thats weird, hmmm, that happened to my uncle when he had his escort, he was sitting at a light in drive then he heard this loud ass bang, and his torque converter took a dump on him.......
which sounds like your car did that too.

the car has something over 230k miles, but the tranny was put in a lil less than a year ago, and it's only had a couple thousand miles put on it since it's been put in, although it was a used tranny. i wouldn't be surprised if its the torque converter, but it doesn't matter cuz i was gonna swap it to 5spd anyways, i was just gonna wait till it was done raining. it's supposed to rain more or less over the next couple weeks. looks like friday and saturday are gonna be the least rainiest days according to the forcast.., so hopefully it's not too wet, cuz i'm gonna need to get it done very soon.

yah, i get reverse when i first start it up, but only for a min. if drive does work, when i go a few feet, it stops working. i'm glad it happened on the way home though, and not on the way to. the main thing i'm pissed about is the weather. i want it to be nice so i can get it done.

What kind of tools and tricks did you guys use to take out some tough bolts and nuts on a tranny,I'm having a hard time trying to remove bolts on dog bone mount and a hub nut.

well, i start tomorrow(er, today, it is after midnight). as far as the parts, i have my parts car, so i have all the parts i need. and yes, currently both my 3g's are down, although my parts car is currently driveable..., i just wouldn't trust it long distance(more than a few miles, lol). i hope i don't really run into any siezed bolt problems. i just replaced the cv joints on the 4dr, so i know none of those bolts are siezed, and the tranny was put in it just under a year ago, so i shouldn't have problems there. as for the parts car, both cv joints have been replaced within the last couple years, so hopefully no problems there. and for the tranny, hopefully none of those bolts are siezed. i have an 18" breaker i think. might be a lil longer, can't remember for sure. the two things i'm most worried about are getting the pedal assemblies off(from what i hear not much room to work with) and dropping the auto tranny, since i've never done that. i have done a clutch before though, so i pretty much do know what i'm doing. i doubt i can do it all in about 12 hours.., but i can hope. most likely i'll work on it tomorrow and monday(sunday is supposed to be crap weather). i at least hope to get everything off both cars tomorrow. and sorry it's so long.., i tend to go on...

lol, so yah, i really do have the worst luck. friday night/early saturday i go out to drive my parts car home to my parents to work on them the next day right? it doesn't start. i play with it for a min.., but i say screw it since it's like 2am and dark. i then end up staying up all night, and then in the morning i mess with it a lil more. i borrow my friends car and run home and grab a spare set of sparkplugs i have laying around(i figured the ones on the parts car were all covered in oil deposits.., and they were), but that didn't do anything. so yah, i basically did no work today since i had plans for the afternoon/evening and my dad didn't have time to tow it today either. so, tomorrow i tow it, and then when better weather comes on monday, i start working on it. hopefully no more snags... *cross fingers*
