    Jim!!!!

    i have some questions...

1: the coilovers i got from AIM "lowboyz" have a 6 inch tall coil and a 10 inch tall coil. the back strut is longer by a few inches so should the little sping go on the back?

2: there are no "HATS" for the top of the coilovers. are these the things that keep the smaller width springs from going through the top spring mount. and if i need these can i get them somewhere? or should i get something machined?

    3: thanx

No top hat's, jeez. Well it ain't the end of the world. For the fronts just reuse the top of your old struts assemblies. Now for the rear, the springs are much narrower than the stock one's so you can't (least I sure the hell wouldn't) reuse the top's of the stock strut assemblies. What I'd do is go to a junk yard and pull the rear sturt assemblies off of a 88-91, 92-95 civic or 90-99 acura integra. Those car's use 2 1/2" rear springs so your set with those. And ya know what, you might want to call a auto parts store and ask them how much they'd charge for rear strut mounts for those car's. I might be worth a couple extra bucks to you to not have to disassemble the old car, I dunno.

As far as where the 6" and 10" springs go, I'm sure that the shorter springs go in the front to go with the shorter bodied fronts and the longer one's go with the longer rear bodies. What do their directions say? Which springs have more give in them when you bare down on them with you body weight? I'd think the shorter one's would be stiffer.

the shorter ones are softer... and ur right about the shit quality of AIM stuff. i had to bust out the dremel and machine 3 of the perches so they would thread onto the body. i am gonna take some pics of them b4 i mount them. they are very interesting.
so tomorow i will call they only auto parts store that is opened(canadian tire) and get some mounts.

how much do u expect? 25 bucks? 50 bucks? lemme know.

thank you for all ur help in this.

I'm positive that they will, 2nd guess me with a return policy from the parts store.(remember that your rear strut mounts do use 2 bolt mounts, unlike the fronts which are 3 bolt).

Your guesstimate on mount prices sounds right.

The shorter springs are softer, what the??? Every single spring maker for our cars use stiffer springs in the rear. I do see plenty of guys that tune their FWD cars with stiffer rear springs. But I highly doubt AIM would do that, so I'd have to say to install the shorter coils in the rear, even though I do not think the shorter one's should be in the rear. Either way you may want to swap them latter on, man damned if you do damned if ya don't.
