I wouldn't suggest buying off-brand rotors unless you have researched the brand and know they are actually made by a reputable company. I have had too many bad experiences both first hand, and second hand, with cheap rotors.
In reply to the $129 e-bay drilled and slotted, I would just go with a known brand drilled or slotted (to keep the price down) instead b/c wouldn't it suck if those warped the first time you used them and the only way you could return them is through mailing one back through UPS? Sure they could be alright, but I would buy them from a well known store (if online) and at least a decent brand.
75 Malibu for sale, fully restored, $5,500 obo

It is very difficult to say what makes the brand 'good'. It is depend on the preference of you, too. As far as I know, these are some known as reputable brand. I am sure there are more brand but I have heard these names repeatedly. Mind you I lived and live in Japan and UK so I dont know so much about US brake company. I know many company poping up into the market now and then, but if the products are not good, normally those company disappears after a couple of years. I am not saying older is better but if the company produce quality product, they tend to survive longer.

Black Diamond - I didnt know this brand before but I am using it and is very good value. They make several variation for our car.
Tarox - Italian brand with a heritage dating back to F1 in the 60's. They do several variations for our car.
Ferodo - British brand with long history in motor racing.
Brembo - Italian brand since 60's. Great if you can afford.
Endless - relatively new Japanese brand since 80's well known in both racing and street applicaiton. I dont think they do for our car anymore.
AP Racing - British brand now part of Brembo
Lockheed/Delphi - They are also making brake for Jet Aeroplane if I remeber correct
