    Angry Wrong Flywheel

well, i ordered the accord lxi 88-89 aasco flywheel from options auto salon(#103207-11) and it came today.
    but, it's the wrong one.
my invoice has the right part number, the flywheel itself has the right part number etched into it, but it doesn't line up with an accord pressure plate. not even close.
the only thing i can see that gives me a clue is on the box it says 103207-11 (correct pt.#) but it doesn't say 88-89 accord. it says 88-89 prelude. and i don't see a listing for 88-89 prelude on their site, so maybe the prelude one was discontinued and they re-used the same part number for the accord one and they sent me a left over prelude one by mistake
anyways, this sucks. i was all ready to put on the new transmission this weekend. guess i'll call them tomorrow.

That is a bummer. It looks like they did you send you the prelude one if it doesn't line up. Hopefully you don't have to pay the shipping back to them. I would call them first thing and tell them to pay for shipping back on THEIR account & send you the right friggin' part. Maybe they can refund you the shipping somehow because of their mistake.

I was curious why you need a new flywheel, was it too far gone or is that a lieght weight one? Could you re-surface the old one?

it's the lightweight one. aside from being the the wrong size, it is VERY nice.

does it have a step in the flywheel? If it doesnt its probably for either a newer accord or newer prelude... give them a call

it has no step. plus, it's diameter is slightly larger and the friction plate is too wide.
i just called them and they put me on hold and then someone picked up and said i have to talk to the guy i ordered it from, who of course just went to lunch

well, i finally talked to the guy at options auto salon that i orded from. he said that the part i ordered is the only one they have for my car and he didn't know why it would be the wrong one. so he gave me aasco's phone # and i called them up and talked to a guy named vincent who was very helpful and told me that the part i need is actually 103208-11. so he's shipping me one directly along with a ups tag for me to send them back the other one.
if anyone else is in the market for a flywheel you might want to go directly through aasco since i don't see the 103208-11# on option's site and it looks as though the 103207-11 is actually for a B20a3.

That's not bad... I'm glad it's not like these other flywheels out here for other cars that are like 6 lbs. or less... I wish the price was a little cheaper than I would consider getting one but who knows, I might end up giving in....

its well worth the money. but when u only have one company producing the product u kinda have to pay what the want for it. Bseries flywheels can go for under $200 now.

    yeah, that's what aasco said.

i'm not 100% sure about 103207-11 being for the b20a3 because i didn't ask. but it has no step on it and the box said 88-89 prelude so it would make sense if it was.
