    lightbar

a guy at my work made a pretty cool lightbar that flashes with the bass of songs, its not like the junk you buy at walmart, its made with LED's and he said something about plugging it into an rca jack on the deck and having a hpf/lpf on it, the thing is pretty cool, except he wont tell anyone how to make it and he said that hell charge like 40 bucks if anyone wants one, which I think is waaaay too high. He also said all the supplies were from radio shack. Does anyone know how to make something like this? When sharp bass hits the first couple lights flash one, but when really low deep bass hits, all the lights go on.

just look up schematics for colour organs... i made one back in high school, they're very simple. the one i did was bass/mid/high with a sensitivity adjustment for each. ran off wall voltage and powered strings of christmas lights etc. i even wired led's into mine on the actual unit so it lights up without lights plugged in.
