im putting in a 5speed in my car, which is auto right now, and i need a rev limiter so i want to get a msd 6al. i have a msd coil. i think i know what some of there msd stuff is but i dont know what with fit together. can you hook up a 2step up to a 6al or a 3step? what is the difference between the two. what about soft rev controls? any help?

if i was you i would stay away from MSD. it is very poorly constracted ignition.
Go with Crane Hi-6s. I had that and it worked great. it has adjustible spark limiter anywhere from 0 rpm to 9900rpm. you don't need 2-3 stage rev controller unless you are running 10s and faster.

ok but does anyone have the answer? i know crane is good but i have msd stuff already and i want to stay with the same brand. thanks for looking out for me though.

try downloading the manual for that ignition. if it doesn't say anything about hooking up one, than you can't.
