Exclamation 2nd gen prelude arms don't fit

I just pulled my upper control arms off. I had bought new prelude ball joints, pulled a pair of prelude arms, cleaned, gleased and reassembled the arms. Just now I noticed that the distance between the two studs is shorter on the prelude arms.

I'm planning to use the arm pivot bolt from the Accord and some washers to get the length closer to correct. I was under the impression that this was an easy swap and everything would fit the same way. I'm sure that the arms are from a 2nd generation prelude.

Why won't it fit as is?

Correct. You will need the use the stud off the accord arm with 2 1/8" washers on each arm to make it fit correctly.

Thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully I've got some laying around and I won't have to find out where to get washers at 1 in the morning.

look for a 24hr Home Depot (Atlanta has one ) or a super Wal-Mart.

    complete

I found some 1/8" washers laying around. I ended up needing 3 for each side before the arms would slide in nicely. I was working at 1 am since it's only warm at night instead of burn-yourself-touching-the-car hot like it is during the day here in Phoenix.

I'm in Ohio and have given up working on cars during the daytime. It's like a blast furnace around here when the wind blows in the shade.
