    Tranny Acting Wierd!!!!

So when its cold out (below 40 F ish) ..... my automatic tranny does one of two things .... either it shifts extremely early (b4 2500rpm) no matter how much gas i give ..... or it refuses to shift all together .. it'll stay in first for a while and then usually shift to 2nd ... but after that it stays in 2nd untill the engine warms up. Once the engine warms up it runs perfectly .. no problems at all!!!

So is this just an "old car" thing or should i start looking for a used tranny??

i would say this is an "old car" thing. i wouldnt say you need to look for a new tranny now, but maybe in a few years or so. it shouldnt be a sign that its going out. i know mine will act up sometimes when its cold.
Keep it HONDA. Or at least Asian.™

Most people don't do this in their automatics but they should. Start it up put your foot on the brake got through the gears so the tranny gets the fluid pressure up and then put it in the desired gear. Your transmission will last longer if you do this.

Oh and don't slide the shifter through the gears let the transmission "shift into gear" then move to the next. You will feel the shift.

Justin, i had this "cold" behavior 2 month ago. Ur governor get sticky. Try a true tranny flush. I did but of no avail. Eventually i rebuilt my tranny. Just follow some of my old posts..
