SO, after one engine, one tranny, and still leaking head gasket, i got my baby running. So I decided it was the big week down in Sacramento at school, so I should drive her down from Redding to Sacramento. Its a Mere 170 miles from Moms house to my apartment. A trip i have done Many, many many...............many times with no problems.

of course there is no trip when She doesnt give me a problem. to start off, the syncros were bad in fifth gear so everytime i shifted into it i would grind. then there was the time when i turned to the right and the axle some how worked itself out of the tranny and started pouring oil out. Some where around mile 38 of the trip, 5th gear decides to go out completely. So I drove 132 some miles in 4th gear doing 60mph in super thick fog. Then i get to school to today to check out a Code 6 the computer is throwing, come to find out the ECU is bad, which also explains why everytime I try to set the timing, when i turn off the car is goes back to bogging on acceleration.

all this to just to tell you....

i bet the old junk yard will have one. last i asked how much for an engine and tranny for my car, they wanted something like $250. i thought that was a good price. so your having shit luck eh? seems like every time you fix something, another thing goes wrong. i know what you mean. i'm still yet to fix my stupid ass oil filter base's leak, i have the little rubber gasket sitting right here by my computer! i'm just not thrilled about having so little space to work in. before i do this i need to get a new jack because mine kinda blew out and i'm using my friends. it does raise up high enough so i cant get under the car too great. anyway, hope you get things going your way.

Yeah I know that feeling. on the daily driver 3g i had a license plate bolt missing. One windshield wiper. a bad starter motor. and stuff i have lying around. but to lazy or unmotivated to work on my own car. that and if I leave those problems alone i'll be fine. ya know if its not ONE things its FIVE!!!

yeah, im currently leaking coolant, oil, and power steering fluid but its pulling harder than I remember, I dont know whats going on. You just can't leave the 3gs alone while you go to school, they start to resent you I guess. Im taking mine back up to Chicago with me a 300 mile trip, hopefully i can survive it without any problems.

Im generally lazy and take the car to Jiffy Lube for oil changes, but they have left it leaking 5 times in a row, and this time they had the nerve to tell me that it was not their fault and that i have a bad oil pan gasket. ummm NO! it didnt leak before the oil change, so unless they messed up the oilpan gasket its their fault again, bu ti guess it would be even if they did mess the gasket up... I'm doing my oil changes by myself anymore, I'm sick of this. and P/S is unresolved tranny swap issues, im pretty sure its around the speed sensor.

that's why i change the oil myself on my cars. i noticed that last time we had the oil changed on the '02 accord, they put 10W30, the car is recommended 5W20. since i did the oil change, i noticed that it runs better with the 5W20 oil. even the dealership put in 10W30. you know another thing i need to change is the PS fluid in my 3gee. the stuff that the mechanic put in wasnt the right stuff. i think its too thin, maybe thats why the PS doesnt work right? hope that'd be it. i know they say put in the real Honda PS fluid or it will mess up, guess thats correct in my case.

I really mean hand bathed with a bucket of water a squeege and a towel. we are not allowed to wash our cars at the apartment complex. and I was getting tired of looking at the dirt. so I washed her and put some hand wax and tire polish and made her look real nice. so here are just some quick pics that i took while driving around....

I didn't even know they could make regular H4 bulbs that hot, and since that's what real HID lights burn at, they gotta look sick. oh, and they cost about 15-20 bucks on eBay, with a lifetime guarantee...

hahaha, what real HID burn at. right, those flashy kelvin temps they give you are BS. why dont you ask paul with the aerodeck. i'll bet he can tell you that the colored bulbs arent shit compared to his phillips HID kit. and i'll tell you first hand that the colored bulbs are actually dimmer than ones that arent tinted. the silver stars in my opinion are over rated. i did a comparison on them a while back if you might remember. the GE super blue bulbs i had used were actually brighter than the silver stars. not trying to knock the Sylvanias, but i had to return them, they werent what i thought they would be. now i have wagoner true view bulbs, they are brighter than the GE ones though. anyway, be careful with the bulbs that are higher wattage than what the car is supposed to use. you may get lucky and nothing happen, but in more cases than not the wiring gets burned up. so mario, how soon until you are able to work on your car? keep us updated on what your doing with it, maybe pix of the progress. that'd be cool.

Eurodezigns is DOT approved. They produce higher temperature and brighter image bulbs using the same wattage and voltage draw.

My 4800K bulbs are very bright, white and nice looking. I got the diamond cut headlight replacement kit, so it looks awesome. They don't have that cheap blue tinted bulb look at all (like the ones you can buy at Pepboys or AutoZone), and they're actually cheaper than anything else you can buy, stock or not.

Anyway, I'm a believer. I have a friend who bought some of those regular blue tinted bulbs at the parts store, and like you said, they're really crappy, they burn the wires, fuses, and themselves out within very short periods of time. But mine don't.

I even have some 5200K fog light bulbs. Makes the night driving a lot more astetically pleasing.

So this is why I want the 8500K bulbs. Especially since Eurodezigns is the ONLY company that guarentee's their product forever. If it ever burns out, trade it in for another for free. Awesome.

I know it won't look quite like the real HIDs, but it'll be as close as you can get without paying the additional $585.

yeah I got silverstars on my EG Hatch Civic and they're much brighter than stock. They are a quality product you can rely on too.

I may get them for the Accord as well.

Uhm...hate to say it but 8000k shouldnt see more than 4600k and 6000k.
It really is a matter of what kind of lense you are using and if you are using a shield to prevent glare to other drivers and what kind of bulbs you are using. I can tell you the 4100k on the S2K projectors are one of the brightest HID's I've seen in the business. It really matters on how the bulb emits light outwards to determine how much it illuminates.

thanks man. i often wonder how much i dumped into it myself. I lost track. and the shitty part is i have nothing to show for it except a sick paint job i did myself, new bumpers, rims and some sweet-ass strobes like no one else.

I am gonna be quite pissed if my ACT is fucked up. as I pulled in to my moms drive after a nice 170 miles drive in 4th gear, the tranny was making a horrific noise. ERRR. well I guess its time to get crackin.

Anyway, yeah the temperature really only plays a major role in the color of the light, not the brightness. At least when you're talking about HID temperatures.

My headlights are the diamond cut ones with that little shield that blocks anyone from seeing the bulb dead-on, so all light is transmitted around the shield. From what I understand that's how "real" HID kits work too.

Like I said before, my 4800K bulbs are nice and white, and bright, but for $15 it couldn't hurt to try something else, and I'll just let everyone know how they look. I'll take picture with one of each kind of bulb installed, and let the masses decide.
