For $12,000 that better include install. No one in there right mind will fricken spend $12,000 and want to go 13.4 seconds in the 1/4 mile. Throw a turbo on there and be a 10 second motor but that will be another 4 to 5k since you have a higher compression motor you want to tune that thing right so you wont blow it.

It's definately a good idea and step for performance companies but I think 12k is a bit much considering those domestic crate motors for like 2 to 3k making over 350 hp. I think they need to start figuring out that they need to be somewhat comparable to domestic stuff or they won't get any business.

Our cars can easily run 15's so lets spend $12,000 and probably $4000 more for ecu and install so we can run mid 13's !!!!! That sounds like a great plan hahahahha

wow, I wish, but for less you can buy a 502 crate Chevy with 850 HP and an Elcamino to drop it into for the difference!

that's real nice, but the price is a real bitch with a capital B. you can build one up with machine work included for cheaper, duh. but i guess if you want it easy you best be ready to pay that then huh. i still want the 2.0 engine. B20 prefurably. i would like to see someone who has bought this engine though. i cant see paying that much for that engine. especially if it doesnt come with a tranny.

Whew its been a while but oh well
AccordEpicenter, no offense but its not a fair comparison. This one is much more stout, more HP and a hell of a lot more durable. No resleeve job here, its a $2500 completely new aftermarket block. Yes $12,000 is MSRP witch is not quite the retail $. Its a brand spanking new product. I walked into the jegs store the other day and one was sitting on the counter (I actually got a hard on). The guys there would not tell me the price since this was a special order and they will not be stocking them in their warehouse. Mike, you can't match this durability and warrenty with used parts, this one is 100% new, and you gotta get it in yourself. Engine swaps are no fun, but this is much easier than say a H or F (Witch I just did) into a Civic. Bs are much easier to work with since they are small. That was also 13s in a 2,600 LB car w/o nitrous or boost, witch this is made to handle. The salesman told me that there is also going to be a low compression version with differant cams for turbo/supercharging. OD, I need to find the punk kid that baught that engine (a fuckin 16 year old) just to see it live. A20A1, Dart is known for v8 heads and nascar/drag racing, they make this block 100% new.

    My take.
yea its expensive, but its the crem de la crem. Here is my rough estimate on a lot of the parts. Block $2,500, Crank/Pistons/Rods $2000, head $3000. Thats $7 grand for the big ticket parts. Probably another grand and a half in other stuff like the oil and water pumps, timing components, covers, oil system and pan, bearings, rings, studs, etc... so $8500 in parts, $1,500 in labor. Thats if you want to buil it yourself. So it doesn't seem like so bad of a deal. plus its perfect for boost.

I know my B18 project will never reach these numbers without boost, but I should be able to creep into S2000 range.

Oh and a 502 Camino would walk over 95% of all race Hondas, but not in the turns. Its all in ones opinion really, a badass car is a badass car no matter what it is.
