I have a 1986 Accord Lxi. Lately when going over bumbs there is a noise from the driver front tire area. Maybe the shocks. The noise is like plastic or metal bumping. Like there used to be padding and its gone. Only over bumps is the noise and the car handles fine. Any idea what this could be? Thank you.
A perfection of means but confusion of ends characterizes our generation.
It could be a lot of things. Check your front anti-roll bar bushings (chassis and end links) and check that all of your suspension fasteners are torqued properly.

ball joints are goin bad maybe? jack the car up and wiggle the tire if it moves like it shouldnt then you might niid ball joints or tie rod ende. i dunno though its hard to tell without takin it apart and then you might as well replace them once they are appart. check the ball joint boots too they might be tore or cracked and all the grease has left causing it to erode until it breaks just like my c.v. joint story in another post. same deal and it happened to me
