What brand gauges do I have??? Nippon Denso or Nippon Seiko?

I have an 88 Lx-i, 5-speed, 2-door. When I tried to install reverse-glo gauges I broke two of the guages. I went to the junkyard and bought a whole new cluster and now my ECU is throwing a code 17, which is the VSS. And that is on the gauge cluster, and I think I have the wrong brand of gauges in it now. If I have the wrong brand guages that could cause it to throw a code 17 right? And how can you tell if it is Nippon Seiko or Nippon Denso that I have now? The original cluster had NS at the bottom of the speedometer, does that mean Nippon Seiko?
