    Wings on Hatches

Ok, if you own a hatch, and have found some way to mount a wing on it, please for the love of everything holy post a pic of it, and give info on what the hell it is if you want.

I have been looking through some wings out there, and could only find like 1 or 2 that might fit, but don't have the $$ to throw away buying it just to find out that it will not fit.

go to a machine shop and get them to cut a peice of 1/8th inch steel plate that will cover the rear ledge and extend it by three or four inches and then add a touring style spoiler or an aluminum spoiler! Thats what i think would work. Travis

    Wings on hatches

The reason it is very difficult to put a wing on 3rd gen hatches is because they arent meant to go there. 1)difficult to install 2)looks terrible 3)dont put a wing on your hatch waste of time money and overall clean look of your car

Personally I'm not sure what I think of that wing, but its not my car
I use to drive rice...and I loved it, now I drive Kraut, and I know just how lost I use to be.

does that wing bolt directly onto that little deck on the hatch? Does it actually fit on there? Do you have any pics of it installed on a hatch?

88lxi68, any idea who makes that wing or what it's off of? That really is the kind I'd like to put on mine or a touring wing but so far the only ones that I can find that will fit are the adjustable aluminum wings.

Is that what you wanted the picture for.:lol

    HostileJava:

Its not a bolt on. Its meant for a 90-93 teg and I had to have it molded to fit the hatch.

This picture doesn't do it too much justice. It looks a whole lot better in person.

Yes and No. My friend has a black hatch and he was interested in one and then I saw this thread. So I figured I could help two people.

That was me who said it. I did try it and fit like it was meant to be there. Only difference is the top corners of the hatch are square and the mustangs are a little round. It wasn't to noticable though.

I bought it back in 95 and they were like 150 for one.

    Sorry no pics

I only had it on for a little over a year. I sold it to someone else with a hatch.

You should be able to get them anywhere.( pep boys, autozone, etc) Its the brand GTS. The same brand that makes black-out covers for head and tail lights.
